Dr. Ornish also elaborates on his latest research into how the mind body connection can favourably change the expression of genes. He discusses his research with Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2009, to show that his programs lengthen telomeres, the ends of our chromosomes that control aging. Dr. Ornish is a Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of California and Founder and President of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute
