Sara Lazar, PhD, talks about her research in the field of neurobiology, her studies involving MRI and meditation, and how her recovery from a knee injury originally inspired her to study the neuroscience of the mind body connection. She also discusses her research on the brains of meditating people and how she has found distinct differences in brain structure between people who meditate and people who do not meditate. She has shown that it takes just an 8-week meditation course to change the structure of our brain. Dr. Lazar is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.
